About
James has over 24 years of experience in the Commercial, Business and Entrepreneurship Banking sectors, working with business owners, leaders and their teams. Ranging from start-ups to corporate organisations, he has helped them to grow, scale-up and achieve their business and personal goals. He is accredited by the Chartered Banking Institute and has a power MBA. James pioneered the inspirational and award-winning Devon based networking event, #NatWestBoost, and is a director at Exeter Chamber of Commerce. In 2024, he founded the Boost Your Business Network #BYBNetwork with a mission to help businesses and people reach their potential.

In 2016, James founded the award winning #NatWestBoost networking events, based in Exeter, Devon, with over 5,000 attendees in just 7 years, becoming one of the most popular and well attended networking events in the UK.
In the summer of 2024, through his passion to support businesses, the Boost Your Business Network was born and will continue to deliver these impactful Boost events with inspirational speakers and vibrant networking.
James also runs group-based and interactive, Boost Masterclasses and Training, which focus on a range of topics to help business owners, entrepreneurs and their teams grow and develop their skills.

He has spent thousands of hours, over many years, working with owners, directors, founders and entrepreneurs. It is always clear that each person has their own unique vision of what success looks like, for their business and for them personally.

Non-Executive Director
James is proud to have served his local Exeter business community since 2021 as a director and board member for Exeter Chamber of Commerce. Being part of a diverse and dynamic board of directors has equipped him with an up-to-date understanding of current issues and deepened his strategic leadership skills.
Working as a non-executive director, he understands the value that a different and challenging perspective can bring to an organisation. Giving board members and leadership a fresh viewpoint on strategy, growth, goal setting and future planning, that can make a real difference.
Consultancy
James has worked with businesses and organisations to deliver bespoke in-house team development and training, across a range of topics from customer service, leadership training and staff mentoring sessions.
His depth of experience and knowledge can be deployed to help business owners deliver a range of one-off projects.
He also help business owners find the right funding and banking solutions for future growth. James has an extensive network, which is key when it comes to matching the right people with the right support at the right time.
Event Hosting & Public Speaking
James is honoured to have been the host/MC for the Exeter University Employment Awards in 2023, 2024 and again for 2025, The Hospiscare Business Awards 2024 and the Exeter Impact Awards for Exeter Chamber in 2023 and 2024.
He also delivers keynote motivational and business talks, recently speaking at the Nexus Open Systems 25th Anniversary, BIPC Devon Business Growth Programmes and the Exeter University Start-Up Bootcamps in 2023 and 2024.
